Welcome to The Wed Blog!

As a non-denominational minister who deals with weddings on a daily basis, being married to a talented and gifted wedding photographer, we've decided to create this blog to share our experiences and advice to help couples plan their perfect wedding.

We are constantly involved in weddings of all sizes, settings and situations, so we feel that we are uniquely qualified to offer insight and suggestions to people getting ready to "take the plunge." Also, living in New Orleans presents it's own special opportunities and challenges when it comes to getting married!

We're heading into "Festival Season" here in The Big Easy, starting this weekend with French Quarter Fest. Between Thursday and Saturday I'll be performing 7 weddings, one of them right in the middle of it all in the French Quarter!

Festival weddings are a lot of fun, but you have to be ready for anything;o) We're also going to be performing a wedding on the Fairgrounds the second weekend of Jazz Fest, and we'll let you all know how that goes.

Feel free to get involved, and share your experiences or post your questions. Weddings - like life, are like roller coasters, and we hope we're all smiling at the end of the ride.

Hi Don! I just wanted to put in my 2-cents worth: Because this is a new blog, I want to clarify that its purpose is to be a forum for our couples who got married in the past to share their experiences, recommendations, stories and even favorite photos if they wish. It is also a forum for couples who are considering getting married in New Orleans to ask questions.

Let's make good use of it!
